At the Sociedad Española de Beneficencia (SEB), our mission has always been to ensure that no member of our community faces their golden years in the shadows. This commitment is most deeply felt in our long-standing alliance with the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly—affectionately known as the Hermanitas.
Operating across two serene locations in San Juan and Tagaytay, the Hermanitas provide more than just shelter; they provide a sanctuary for those who have faced the most extreme economic and social challenges.
The congregation of the Little Sisters was founded in Spain in 1873 by Saint Teresa de Jesús Jornet e Ibars. Her philosophy was simple yet profound: to care for the aged with the same tenderness one would show their own parents. In the Philippines, the Sisters carry this spirit forward, opening their doors to seniors who once lived on the margins of society.
By combining the SEB’s financial stewardship with the Sisters’ extraordinary spirit of service, we have built a holistic safety net that covers every aspect of a resident's life:
The collaboration between the SEB and the Hermanitas is a testament to what is possible when resources meet a dedicated spirit of service. Together, we ensure that every senior in our care knows they are seen, they are valued, and they are loved.
