A Partnership for Dignity at the Santa Maria Josefa Home

March 24, 2026

At the Sociedad Española de Beneficencia (SEB), we believe that reaching one’s golden years should not mean a loss of independence or a fading of the spirit. Our promise is simple: a Dignified Life. To deliver on that promise, we work with partners who share our commitment to geriatric excellence.

Leading that charge in the National Capital Region is our flagship partner facility, the Santa Maria Josefa Home.

A Legacy of Compassion

The home is operated by the Religious Sisters Servants of Jesus of Charity, an order founded in 1871 by St. Maria Josefa Sancho de Guerra. St. Maria Josefa’s mission was revolutionary for her time—treating the sick and elderly not just as patients, but as "Christ Himself." Today, the Sisters in Manila continue this legacy, ensuring that the facility is far more than a residential building; it is a sanctuary.

What Makes Santa Maria Josefa Different?

Specialized care requires a specialized environment. In collaboration with SEB, the home provides a comprehensive support system designed to honor the dignity of every resident:

  • Specialized Wards & Expert Care: Residents have 24/7 access to care and regular consultations with geriatric specialists retained by SEB.
  • Active Living: Healing isn't just medical. Through dedicated physical and emotional therapy spaces, residents engage in rehabilitation and social recreation that keeps the mind and body sharp.
  • A "Chosen Family": Perhaps most importantly, the home fosters a Culture of Accompaniment. For those who may have no one else, the Sisters and staff provide a spiritual and emotional community, ensuring no one walks their path alone.

Our Shared Mission

By partnering with the Santa Maria Josefa Home, SEB ensures that every "Interno" receives professional nutrition, high-standard hygiene, and—most importantly—profound compassion. Together, we are building a community where aging is met with respect and every day is lived with purpose.

Whether through a monthly gift or a one-time donation, our partners are the reason our doors remain open and our hearts remain full.
